Prince Harry may celebrate his 42nd birthday with King Charles, according to former royal butler Grant Harrold.
Harry is spending his birthday in Britain after reportedly returning to the UK with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. It is believed to be his first birthday in the country since 2019.
Harrold told the Daily Express that the King could invite his younger son to a special birthday meal.
“I think it’s really possible that the King will invite Harry for a birthday meal,” he said. “This is the perfect opportunity to spend time together if relations are going well.”
However, Harrold noted that any meeting would depend on the King’s location and schedule. He also believes Charles may have bought Harry a birthday present.
Harrold said Harry could also spend the day privately with Meghan and their children. Since he is no longer a working royal, the Duke of Sussex does not have the same busy schedule as other members of the royal family.
In the past, Harry might have been expected to attend an official event on his birthday. Now, he is free to celebrate however he chooses.
“I can imagine him going out and having a coffee in the morning, catching up with some friends and having a nice lunch with Meghan,” Harrold added.
“Whatever they do, Meghan is very thoughtful, so I’m sure she will make it special.”
