Meghan Markle is reportedly worried about keeping her children safe while carrying out her responsibilities as a mother in the UK.
The Duchess of Sussex has previously said that she enjoys taking Archie and Lilibet to and from school. However, she is said to be concerned about security near the family’s home in the Cotswolds.
A friend of Meghan told The Sun: “The school run is a tricky issue and I understand they are nervous about it.”
Before leaving California, the family spent time with close friends and gave the children a chance to say goodbye, according to a source who spoke to People.
“They wanted to spend time with the people they're closest to before they left and for the kids to have some special time with friends,” the source said.
The source explained that the move is not necessarily permanent, adding: “It wasn't a goodbye forever. It was much more, 'We'll be back, but this is what we're doing right now.'”
The family had reportedly been preparing for the move for some time. Although they believe it is the right decision, leaving California was still difficult.
“Meghan really loves their life in Montecito and their home there,” the source said. “There's excitement about what's ahead too, especially for the kids. They're really happy for them and for everything they'll get to experience.”
