Meghan Markle has reportedly ignored a major warning from her mother, Doria Ragland, about moving back to the UK with Prince Harry and their children, Archie and Lilibet.
Royal commentator Rob Shuter shared the claim in his latest Naughty But Nice Substack article. According to family sources, Doria advised Meghan to think carefully before returning to Britain because she fears the past could repeat itself.
“Doria told Meghan to think very carefully before moving back,” a family source claimed.
“She watched what Britain did to her daughter the first time. She saw the pressure, the criticism and the toll it took. She’s terrified history will repeat itself.”
The source added that Doria is not against her daughter. Instead, she is simply worried about Meghan’s well-being.
“She isn’t rooting against Meghan. She’s protecting her. That’s what mothers do,” the insider said.
Despite her mother’s concerns, Meghan is reportedly determined to make the family’s return to the UK work.
Sources told Closer that the Duchess of Sussex has tried to reconnect with friends in Britain but has had little success. Still, she is said to be staying positive and trying to show that she can build a happy life there.
Meghan reportedly has more friends in the UK than she did before. However, many of them live in different places, have busy schedules or spend much of their time abroad.
As a result, sources believe her social life in Britain may not be as active as it is in California.
