Prince Harry and Meghan reportedly change children’s school over safety concerns

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly moved their children to a different school just two days after the term began because of concerns about their safety.

According to Hello! Magazine, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, changed schools after the couple’s security team found it difficult to manage the daily journey safely.

A spokesperson said the decision came after talks with the security team. They stressed that the school was not to blame and thanked staff for caring for the family.

Sources told the magazine that the school was too far from the family’s home for their small security team to manage the journey safely. Security checks had been carried out at the school before term started, but the daily school run had not been tested.

A source close to the couple said the family had been happy with the school. The children enjoyed being there, and Harry and Meghan had hoped they could stay. However, they decided their children’s safety had to come first.

Archie and Lilibet reportedly started at a school closer to home on Monday. Harry was said to have been seen dropping off his daughter, and both parents have joined the new school’s parent messaging groups.

The report also says Harry and Meghan were granted a formal security review last week following their return to the UK. They were asked to provide details about their daily routines, including travel to and from school.

Harry continues to seek taxpayer-funded security, although he no longer carries out official royal duties.

According to the account, the couple, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020, said they returned to England partly to be closer to King Charles III while he receives cancer treatment.
