Prince Harry urged people to “invest in families” during a heartfelt speech at the WellChild Awards in London on Monday.
The Duke of Sussex praised children living with complex medical needs and the families who care for them every day. He said the ceremony offered a chance to celebrate their strength and dedication.
Harry also thanked the professionals and carers who help these children and their families live full and meaningful lives. He described their work as central to WellChild’s purpose.
He said the evening showed what people can achieve when they support families, care professionals and one another. Every child, he added, deserves to feel cared for, supported and loved.
Speaking directly to parents, Harry acknowledged that many people cannot fully understand the emotional challenges they face each day.
“But I sincerely hope that you take strength from nights like this,” he said.
He assured them that their care and commitment were recognized, both by those attending the ceremony and by people beyond the room.
