Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing fresh criticism after King Charles reportedly described their status as that of private citizens.
Speaking with News24 host Danica De Giorgio, Triggered with Samara Gill host Samara Gill argued that the couple’s public activities do not match their calls for privacy.
Gill pointed to their social media posts, Netflix projects, podcasts and Harry’s memoir, Spare. In her view, the couple have shared personal details while also asking for a private life.
She singled out Spare, saying Harry revealed intimate information about his life and family in the book.
Gill also claimed that the couple now want to be seen as public celebrities after being described as private citizens. The article does not include a response from Harry or Meghan to that claim.
She went on to accuse the Sussexes of passing information to the media. She referred to an alleged tip to a journalist at The Telegraph and claimed the couple had previously used People magazine to share their side of events.
Gill argued that these media contacts were adding to tensions with Buckingham Palace. Her remarks reflect her interpretation of the couple’s actions.
