Prince William did not answer reporters’ questions about his uncle Earl Spencer’s book as he arrived at a royal engagement.
Royal reporter Chris Ship shared a video of the moment on X, formerly Twitter. Reporters asked William how he felt about the book and whether he had read it.
The memoir, Swan Song, discusses Princess Diana’s life and her troubled marriage to King Charles. It also includes disputed claims about Charles’s reaction to her death in 1997.
According to extracts reported by the Daily Mail, Spencer alleges that Charles told him: “Rest assured, we’ll forget her soon enough.”

Spencer also claims that Charles sounded happy in the hours after Diana's death, comparing his tone to that of a lottery winner. These allegations are Spencer’s account of the events.
Charles responded through a spokesperson, who suggested that personal grievances can affect reason, judgment and memory.
Spencer, who delivered a widely praised tribute at his sister’s funeral, has drawn attention with the memoir. William offered no public response to his claims during the filmed exchange.
