Prince William Expected to Represent King Charles at King Harald’s Funeral

Prince William is expected to represent King Charles III at the funeral of Norway’s late King Harald.

King Harald died peacefully at Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet on August 28. He was 89 years old.

His funeral will take place at Oslo Cathedral on September 9, following memorial events across Norway. World leaders and members of royal families are expected to attend.

The service will begin at 1 p.m. and will be led by Olav Fykse Tveit, president of the Church of Norway.

King Charles paid a touching tribute to his “dear cousin,” but it is still unclear whether he will travel to Norway for the funeral, according to Hello. Sources say Prince William will likely attend instead and pay his respects on behalf of the British royal family.

King Harald had been receiving treatment for haemolytic anaemia. The condition causes the body to destroy red blood cells faster than normal.
