Prince William is reportedly angry about his uncle Earl Spencer’s memoir, which explores Princess Diana’s life and her troubled marriage to King Charles.
Speaking on the Daily Expresso podcast, as reported by Woman’s Day, royal commentator Mark Dolan claimed that William strongly objects to the book.
“My royal sources tell me that William is absolutely furious about the book, that he doesn’t have a good relationship with his uncle, and he’s firmly on his father’s side,” Dolan said.
Dolan also described William as “disgusted” by his contents. These claims come from Dolan’s unnamed sources, rather than a public statement from William.
The commentator also criticized Prince Harry for not speaking out about the memoir, calling his silence “an act of war”. That was Dolan’s interpretation, rather than evidence of Harry’s views.
In a separate opinion piece for the Daily Express, Emily Wright suggested that William’s decision to stay quiet was expected.
She argued that he takes his responsibilities as a future king seriously and avoids public arguments that could prolong his family’s distress.
In Wright’s view, William’s approach is to continue his royal duties without adding to the debate surrounding his uncle’s book.
