The Prince of Wales is reportedly struggling to accept his brother’s return to the UK.
Prince Harry’s reported return to Britain has made his relationship with Prince William even more difficult, according to a royal insider.
The source, who is said to know about private matters within the Royal Family, told Heat World that William remains angry about the situation.
“The fact that his brother is back and getting all sorts of special attention has left him completely stunned,” the insider said. “He feels like everyone suddenly has amnesia.”
William is reportedly determined to keep his distance from Harry and Meghan. The source claimed that he does not trust the couple and does not want to be pulled into their plans.
“He says he’s tried forcing himself to make nice before and it was unbearable,” the insider added.
According to the source, William still thinks about the public appearance he made with Harry, Meghan and Kate after Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
The insider described the walkabout as a painful experience for William. He reportedly disliked every moment of it and looked visibly unhappy.
That event happened before Harry released his memoir, Spare, which is said to have made the brothers’ relationship even worse.
There could also be more family tension at Christmas. If Harry and Meghan are invited to royal gatherings, William may choose not to attend.
The source claimed William believes the Sussexes lost the right to attend such events because of their past behavior. He would reportedly rather stay away than pretend everything is fine.
Some people are encouraging William to put aside his anger and give Harry another chance. However, he is said to be unwilling to change his position.
According to the insider, William would rather spend Christmas alone than sit at the same table as Harry and Meghan.
Other members of the family reportedly hope he will reconsider for King Charles’ sake. For now, however, the source said William is not changing his mind.
