Earl Spencer’s sisters reportedly unhappy with his book, Swan Song

Charles Spencer, Princess Diana’s brother and Prince Harry’s uncle, has reportedly upset his sisters with his book, Swan Song.

The book reportedly makes several accusations against King Charles. This has led to comparisons with Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, which also drew widespread attention.

According to an unnamed source quoted by New Idea, Spencer’s sisters, Lady Sarah and Lady Jane, opposed the book from the beginning. Neither sister has publicly commented on it.

The source claimed that other members of the Spencer family were also disappointed. They had expected a tribute to Diana, but felt the book had instead created more controversy.

The source also said the book had made family relationships more difficult, claiming Spencer had been distant from much of his family for years.

Spencer, however, said Prince Harry had no role in the book. He explained that only his wife and publishers knew about it while he was working on it.

He said he told the rest of his family shortly before the book was publicly announced. He wanted to make clear that none of them, especially Harry, had been involved.

Because Harry had stayed with him during the summer, Spencer said it was particularly important to avoid any suggestion that his nephew had helped with the book.
