Kate Middleton announces new project on nature and early childhood

Kate Middleton has announced a new project to explore how nature can help babies and young children grow and develop.

The announcement came a day after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s joint appearance in Britain following their return from the United States.

Kensington Palace shared a video in which Kate introduced the project. She has asked the Centre for Early Childhood to lead the work, with a new programme planned for next year.

Supported by the Duchy of Cornwall as its founding partner, the project will explore how nature, creativity and relationships can help children understand their feelings and connect with others. These skills can support their health and happiness throughout life.

In her message, Kate said spending time outdoors is especially important in a world where technology plays such a large role.

Royal reporter Rebecca English described the message as heartfelt. She said Kate was encouraging parents to help children put down their phones and enjoy time outside.

According to English, the video was filmed in Cornwall with support from Prince William and the Duchy of Cornwall. Three new portraits of Kate were also released alongside it.
