Friends of Kate Middleton have rejected claims that she took Princess Charlotte on the London Underground to embarrass Meghan Markle.
Kate and Charlotte reportedly surprised passengers when they travelled on the Tube during a mother-daughter outing. The trip came as Prince Harry and Meghan continued to raise concerns about their security in Britain.
Writing on his Naughty But Nice Substack, royal commentator Rob Shuter quoted unnamed sources who claimed Meghan saw the outing as a deliberate insult.
According to those sources, Meghan believed the trip sent a message: if Kate could use public transport with her daughter, why couldn’t Harry and Meghan?
However, people described as Kate’s friends denied that the outing had anything to do with Meghan.
One told Shuter that Kate does not spend her time planning ways to embarrass her. Another said Kate was simply enjoying time with Charlotte and that Meghan was not discussed.
The claims about Meghan’s reaction come from unnamed sources, rather than a public statement from Meghan herself.
