King Charles has been warned against rushing efforts to help Prince William and Prince Harry repair their relationship.
Reports suggest the King hopes a service honoring their late mother, Princess Diana, could help bring the brothers together.
Next August will mark 30 years since Diana’s death. According to the report, Charles has not objected to holding a service in her memory.
However, royal commentator Max Pemberton said using the occasion to arrange a reunion could be a mistake.
He explained that bringing people together before they are ready rarely works. The anniversary of a parent’s death can also bring up strong feelings, making it a difficult time to resolve family problems.
Pemberton suggested that the King and his staff should give the brothers time and space, while keeping the chance of a reunion open.
He said William and Harry would need to decide for themselves when they are ready to reconnect. In his view, rebuilding their relationship by choice is the best way to make peace last.
