Kevin O’Sullivan has raised questions about whether Prince Harry knew about allegations against Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle. However, there is no evidence to support the theory that Meghan kept this information from him.
The discussion follows reports that Meghan received a letter from Roslyn Loveless through the Metropolitan Police. The letter reportedly contained allegations against her father. Questions have since been raised about whether Kensington Palace officials were told.
Speaking with commentator Kinsey Schofield, O’Sullivan questioned whether Harry had also been left unaware.
Schofield wrote on Substack: “Kevin O’Sullivan has raised a question I hadn’t considered. Was Prince Harry kept in the dark, too?”
O’Sullivan’s theory is based on Harry’s history of discussing private family matters in public, including in his BBC interview, documentaries and memoir, Spare.
Schofield explained that Harry has spent years defending Meghan and criticizing the media’s treatment of her. O’Sullivan believes that, if Harry knew about the allegations, he might have suggested there was more behind Meghan’s decision to stop speaking to her father.
However, Schofield acknowledged that there were no facts to support this theory. Harry’s silence does not prove whether he knew about the allegations.
She also said reports suggesting that senior palace officials had not been informed raised questions about how many people knew about the letter.
A Daily Mail report questioned how palace officials could have been unaware of the allegations. However, the accounts described in the original article are unclear about who was told.
The report also said Meghan was advised to let her protection team deal with the matter. One of her Royalty and Specialist Protection bodyguards reportedly told her: “Leave it with us, we’ll investigate it.”
