A senior palace aide has offered a rare look at how King Charles balances his many responsibilities while dealing with cancer and family difficulties.
The aide said the King carefully decides which duties need his attention most urgently.
“The King rigorously prioritises his multiple roles, as Head of State, church, Commonwealth, military and family,” the aide explained. “The order of priority shifts by the day, and often by the hour.”
Put simply, his focus changes depending on what needs to be done.
“Busy people get lots done,” the aide added.
According to the aide, these changing demands help explain the King’s decisions, including some of his more difficult choices.
Charles has continued to carry out royal duties while managing his health and tensions within his family. These include the fallout from his brother Andrew’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and the ongoing rift between Prince William and Prince Harry.
