Amidst the unfolding controversy surrounding her Mother's Day photo, Kate Middleton has broken her silence, issuing an apology regarding the editing of the picture.
In her statement, Kate expressed her regret, stating, "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C"
The Prince and Princess of Wales' social media accounts shared Catherine's statement on Monday, March 11th.
The apology follows the uproar over the authenticity of the first official photo of the Princess of Wales, shared by Prince William. The image depicts Catherine, reportedly recuperating at home, sharing a joyful moment with her children - Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five - on Mothering Sunday. This marked her first public appearance since Christmas.
However, eagle-eyed royal fans began to raise questions about the picture's authenticity, possibly taken by the Prince of Wales. Subsequently, all major agencies issued a "kill notice," confirming the removal of the image from their collections.
In response to the controversy, some royal commentators have called for Kensington Palace to release the "unedited photo" of Kate and William's three children.
