However, this year brings a veil of uncertainty after Kate encountered unprecedented scrutiny and backlash over alterations to the Mother’s Day portrait featuring her kids, posted on the Waleses’ official social media accounts last month.
In an interview with Fox News, royal commentator Christopher Andersen suggested that the future Queen of England have Louis’ photo taken by a professional photographer or eschew retouching altogether.
"My suggestion would be for Kate to either take the photo herself without any edits or to explain in advance how and why she altered it," he proposed. "Alternatively, she could have a professional photographer take it and handle any explanations.
"Will it truly make a difference? The conspiracy theories are bound to persist regardless.
"The genie, so to speak, is already out of the bottle," remarked the author of 'The Last King.'
