Buckingham Palace Shares Heartfelt Message for Monarch’s First Birthday Since Cancer Diagnosis
Buckingham Palace has released a touching tribute as King Charles marks his 76th birthday on November 14th. Despite his birthday falling in November, the King had already celebrated his official birthday in June with the Trooping the Colour parade, following the tradition for the reigning monarch.
This birthday holds particular significance as it is Charles’ first since revealing his cancer diagnosis earlier this year. While the King is said to be "doing better," he continues to undergo treatment.
To honour the occasion, the Palace shared a portrait of the King dressed in a royal blue suit, smiling warmly in what appears to be the throne room. The caption read simply, "Wishing His Majesty The King a very Happy Birthday today."
In a gesture that reflects his ongoing commitment to charitable causes, King Charles plans to mark his birthday by expanding his Coronation Food Project. Two new Coronation Food Hubs, one to be opened in person and another virtually, will be launched as part of the project’s first anniversary celebrations.
The hubs are designed to serve as key distribution centres, aiming to channel surplus food to charities like FareShare and the Felix Project, helping communities most in need during challenging times.
