Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Reunite for First Joint Statement Following Professional Split

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex address global conference on children’s safety amid Prince William’s South Africa tour.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made their first joint appearance in months, ending their professional separation with a heartfelt video message. The couple virtually attended the inaugural United Nations Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, held in Bogotá, Colombia, from their Montecito home.

Their appearance follows the recent launch of the Parents’ Network, an initiative by the Sussexes aimed at supporting children and families affected by online violence. Members of the project, along with parents of impacted children, were featured during the event.

According to the Archewell Foundation’s website, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "applauded the efforts of those addressing this critical issue and emphasised the need to tackle digital violence to prioritise children’s safety in our connected world."

In her message, Meghan remarked, "At the Archewell Foundation, we engage with young people, families, and experts worldwide, learning how every aspect of a child’s life — from their livelihood to their physical and mental well-being — is influenced by the online economy, which has the power to both shape and misshape our connections."

The joint video marks their first public appearance together since reports surfaced about their decision to focus on separate official engagements. The timing of their statement coincides with Prince William’s high-profile tour in Cape Town, highlighting the ongoing commitments of the Sussexes despite recent speculation about their professional paths.
