Prince William Takes On New Role with Solo Engagement

Prince of Wales to launch Jewel of Arabia Expedition in London as Catherine prepares for festive duties.

Prince William is set to make a prominent solo appearance in London, stepping into his new role as co-patron of the Jewel of Arabia Expedition. Meanwhile, Catherine focuses on preparations for her annual Christmas Carol concert.

The Prince of Wales will attend the launch event on Monday, November 25th, at the Royal Geographical Society, marking his first engagement in the role. The honour is shared with Theyazin bin Haitham, the Omani heir to the throne, underscoring the strong ties between the UK and Oman.

The Jewel of Arabia initiative seeks to highlight Oman’s rich biodiversity and cultural heritage while showcasing local efforts toward sustainability. The expedition itself is slated to begin on January 6th, 2025.

During the launch, William and Theyazin will explore artefacts from the original expedition, including historical maps of Oman, reflecting the Prince’s dedication to environmental conservation and global partnerships.

This new role aligns with William’s longstanding commitment to protecting the planet, further cementing his leadership in global sustainability efforts.
