Camilla plans return to royal duties with a high-profile reception after following doctors' advice for rest.
Queen Camilla is making a steady recovery from a chest infection that temporarily halted her royal engagements. Buckingham Palace has announced that the 77-year-old Queen will host a reception for the shortlisted authors of the 2024 Booker Prize next Tuesday, marking her return to the public eye, as reported by GB News.
Camilla had cancelled all her engagements this week to rest on medical advice. While she will skip the Field of Remembrance ceremony at Westminster Abbey, where the Duchess of Gloucester will step in, the Palace confirmed she plans to resume her schedule for the Booker Prize event.
The Queen also opted out of attending a Buckingham Palace reception for Olympic and Paralympic athletes hosted by King Charles, prioritising her recovery.
A spokesperson for the Palace stated: "Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have recommended a short period of rest. She regrets any inconvenience caused."
Camilla remains under medical supervision but hopes to participate in the upcoming Remembrance events as planned, signaling her gradual return to royal duties.
