Prince Harry Faces UK Legal Battle Without Meghan Markle's Support

Duchess of Sussex’s Continued Absence Fuels Speculation About Royal Couple’s Dynamic

Prince Harry is set to face another high-profile legal battle in the UK, this time without Meghan Markle by his side. The Duke of Sussex will appear in January 2025 at the High Court in London for his ongoing case against News Group Newspapers, but Meghan is unlikely to join him.

The Duchess of Sussex has not returned to the UK since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022, raising questions about her absence from significant events. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams suggested Meghan’s choice might be strategic, aligning with their priorities to manage public perception.

"This will be very high-profile, and the chances are Harry will attend as he has in previous cases," Fitzwilliams told GB News. "Meghan’s absence is likely tactical, as she has no direct involvement in this case."

The couple’s recent focus on separate public appearances has drawn attention, with Fitzwilliams noting how Meghan’s absence from such events, including next year’s Invictus Games, could spark rumours of a rift. The Duke and Duchess, historically united at the games since 2017, have raised eyebrows with Harry’s solo appearances tied to the 2025 Vancouver event.

Fitzwilliams added, "While they typically appear as a couple, any decision for Meghan not to attend would intensify scrutiny over their relationship dynamic."

As Prince Harry prepares for his legal battle, Meghan’s absence continues to fuel speculation about the couple’s evolving public presence, leaving royal watchers eager for clarity on their next joint appearance.
