Prince Harry’s legal battles deepen family divide, with younger royals quietly backing the Duke
King Charles III is said to be facing a fresh internal crisis as growing tensions within the royal family threaten to divide its members into opposing camps, according to former royal aide Paul Burrell.
As the 76-year-old monarch continues cancer treatment and attempts to maintain unity, reports suggest Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and Zara Tindall could be stepping up privately to support him. However, a divide appears to be forming along generational lines.
Burrell claims the royal family is "splitting in two," with younger royals showing quiet support for Prince Harry, while senior members, including King Charles and Prince William, remain aligned with traditional royal values and the institution.
“Harry is closest to the York sisters—Beatrice and Eugenie,” Burrell told Genting Casino, as reported by GB News. “They’re of the same generation and understand how outdated some of the royal rules can be. They don’t always agree with them.”
He added, “Harry, Eugenie, and Beatrice live in the real world now. They walk the streets like the rest of us. But their loyalty to Harry comes at a cost to their own standing with the royal establishment.”
Burrell also stated that Harry’s rebellious stance has distanced him from the senior royals. “There are now two camps forming—one around Harry and Meghan, and one around Charles, William, and the palace.”
While Prince Harry remains estranged from his brother William, his strong ties to Beatrice and Eugenie have endured, even after his move to California in 2020. The cousins’ support has become more visible as Harry navigates public legal disputes and ongoing scrutiny.
As the monarchy grapples with internal strain, senior royals are reportedly uniting to support the King publicly, while younger family members may be playing a quieter but significant role behind the scenes—leaving Charles to face one of the most complex family challenges of his reign.
