Duke of York joins royal family at Windsor Castle to mark four years since father's passing
Prince Andrew made a rare public appearance on Friday as he joined members of the royal family at Windsor Castle for a private memorial service honouring his late father, Prince Philip.
The Duke of York, 65, was seen looking solemn as he departed the Berkshire estate following the intimate gathering, held to mark four years since the former Duke of Edinburgh passed away on April 9, 2021, at the age of 99.
Dressed in a formal black suit and white shirt, Andrew was photographed driving away from the castle in the early afternoon, his expression reflecting the reflective tone of the occasion.
The service, which took place one day after the anniversary of Prince Philip’s funeral at St George’s Chapel on April 17, appeared to be a private family affair. Specific details and attendees remain undisclosed, with only those closest to the late Duke believed to have taken part in the tribute.
Andrew’s appearance comes just ahead of the royal family's annual Easter Sunday walk, which he and the Duchess of York are reportedly expected to skip this year despite having attended in the past.
