Duke of Sussex receives special honour amid rising royal tensions following Ukraine visit
The Duke of Sussex is preparing for another high-profile engagement following his controversial solo visit to Ukraine, which reportedly left Prince William irritated.
Harry has accepted a special invitation to appear at the 22nd annual Living Legends of Aviation awards on April 25, where he will present honours to aerial firefighting crews who helped battle Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year. The event will feature notable figures including Morgan Freeman, John Travolta, and several NASA astronauts.
Organisers say the ceremony will pay tribute to the brave men and women who “flew hundreds of missions in unforgiving conditions to protect and save people and property.”
This latest update follows mounting speculation over tensions between the royal brothers. Insiders claim Prince William was left “fuming” after palace officials advised him against travelling to Ukraine due to security concerns—only for Harry to make the trip instead.
Royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths believes the move may have been intentionally provocative. “He must plan these things to annoy his brother,” she said. “I honestly can’t see it any other way.”
Harry is expected to attend the upcoming event without Meghan Markle and their children.
