Prince Harry Faces New Disappointment as Sentebale Trustee Resigns Days After Joining

Duke of Sussex dealt fresh blow following emotional exit from Princess Diana tribute charity

Prince Harry has received more distressing news shortly after stepping down from Sentebale, the charity he co-founded in 2006 to honor his late mother, Princess Diana.

The Duke of Sussex, who resigned from the organization last month alongside Prince Seeiso amid internal conflict, is now facing another setback as newly appointed trustee Dr. Margaret Ikpoh has also stepped down—just days after taking on the role.

Dr. Ikpoh joined the board on March 25, but her resignation comes as the Charity Commission continues its investigation into allegations of bullying and tension within the charity’s leadership.

In a statement, Sentebale acknowledged her departure:

“This is a particularly difficult time to have joined the organization, given the unexpected sustained and intrusive media attention.

She has chosen to step down out of respect for her family and other professional commitments, which we fully understand, respect and support.”

Harry and Seeiso originally launched Sentebale to support children and adolescents affected by HIV/AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana. The charity’s name—Sentebale, meaning “forget-me-not” in Sesotho—was a heartfelt tribute to Diana’s humanitarian legacy.

The pair stepped down from their roles last month in solidarity with trustees who had clashed with chairwoman Sophie Chandauka, following calls for her resignation.

The sudden departure of a new trustee deepens the uncertainty surrounding Sentebale’s future, and adds to what is clearly a painful chapter for Harry, who once described the charity as one of the most meaningful parts of his royal life.
