Charity inquiry may expose Duke's alleged clash with chair amid growing tension
Prince Harry has received a troubling update as a formal investigation begins into the controversy surrounding his resignation from Sentebale, the charity he co-founded.
The inquiry comes amid escalating tensions between Harry and the charity’s chair, Dr Sophie Chandauka, following his recent departure as patron. In his resignation, the Duke cited issues with Dr Sophie’s leadership, but she responded with serious counterclaims — including accusations of “harassment and bullying at scale.”
Among the most damaging allegations is the existence of an “unpleasant” and “imperious” message reportedly sent by Harry to Dr Sophie, after she allegedly refused to back Meghan Markle during a dispute related to a polo event.
According to Page Six, there’s growing concern that the message could become public. “Harry should be nervous about this message coming out,” a source told the outlet, highlighting the potential backlash given his history of speaking out against bullying.
“When Meghan was accused of being a bully, Harry’s world stopped. He moved heaven and Earth to try to protect her... and now he’s being accused of the same thing,” the insider added.
Harry has firmly denied the allegations, stating in a recent response that he “fully expects the investigation will unveil the truth that collectively forced us to resign.” He also expressed hope that the inquiry would ultimately help refocus Sentebale’s mission: “for the sake of the communities we serve.”
As the inquiry unfolds, all eyes are on whether Harry’s message will emerge — and what impact it could have on his public image and the legacy of his charitable work.
