Taylor Swift Sets New Streaming Record as Fans Anticipate ‘TS12’ Album Release

Pop superstar becomes first artist with five albums surpassing 9 billion Spotify streams

Taylor Swift has added another major milestone to her record-breaking career, becoming the first artist in Spotify history to have five albums surpass 9 billion streams—just as excitement builds around her rumoured new album.

The 35-year-old singer-songwriter hit the benchmark with 1989 (2014), Reputation (2017), Lover (2019), Folklore (2020), and Midnights (2022), according to Chart Masters. Lover leads with 12.5 billion streams, while the rest all exceeded 9 billion, cementing Swift’s reign as the “Queen of Spotify,” as declared by her fans online.

The streaming triumph comes amid growing speculation about her 12th studio album, dubbed TS12 by Swifties. Rumours intensified when Swedish producer Jacob Corin mentioned in an interview that he was wrapping up work on Swift’s upcoming project alongside musician Erik Arvinder.

“We’re just finishing Taylor Swift’s album,” Corin said in Swedish—according to a fan account on X—before the interview video was swiftly removed by Universal Music Group.

While Swift has yet to comment on the alleged new release, anticipation continues to grow as fans await official confirmation of what could be her next era-defining project.
