Buckingham Palace shares fresh update as royal couple supports UK City of Culture 2025
King Charles III and Queen Camilla left their royal residence on Thursday to carry out a major engagement, as Buckingham Palace revealed new details about their upcoming royal commitments.
The royal couple travelled to Bradford to support the 2025 UK City of Culture at the grand opening of Bradford Live. Upon arrival, they were welcomed by a performance from the Paraorchestra, an inclusive ensemble of disabled and non-disabled musicians, and later observed local school pupils rehearsing Sing, Dance, Leap—an educational project led by the Royal Ballet and Opera in collaboration with Northern Ballet and Opera North.
Council Leader Susan Hinchcliffe expressed the district’s excitement at hosting Their Majesties, calling it “fantastic” to have their visit mark such an important cultural milestone for the city.
The appearance is part of a packed schedule for the King and Queen, who are due to visit Canada on 27th May and host a state visit for France in July. King Charles continues to take on royal duties while undergoing weekly treatment following his cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
