Monarch’s Silence Rooted in Legal Duty Amid Ongoing Court Case
King Charles is reportedly not avoiding Prince Harry out of personal resentment but is instead observing legal boundaries tied to his constitutional role, a royal expert has claimed.
Following Prince Harry’s failed legal attempt to reinstate his UK security, questions have been raised about the King’s silence. According to royal commentator Robert Hardman, the monarch’s lack of contact with his son is a matter of legal protocol.
Speaking to GB News, Hardman explained, “The reason the King does not speak to Harry is because he can't speak to him. Harry is suing the King’s ministers in the King’s courts, and the King is head of the judiciary.”
Any personal discussion about the case — particularly regarding security — would be “deeply problematic,” he added.
Prince Harry, who expressed strong frustration following the court ruling, now faces an estimated £1.5 million in legal costs.
