Catherine May Attend Wimbledon 2025, Bringing Hope to Supporters

Princess of Wales expected to appear at favorite sporting event amid cancer recovery

Fans of the Princess of Wales are breathing a sigh of relief following reports that Catherine may attend Wimbledon 2025 — her first major public appearance since Garter Day.

Catherine, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment, was absent from Royal Ascot this year, prompting concern among royal watchers. However, there is growing speculation that she could make a return to public life at the upcoming tennis tournament, which begins Monday, June 30.

As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016, the Princess has traditionally presented trophies to the winners of the men’s and women’s finals. In 2024, she handed the trophy to men’s champion Carlos Alcaraz, marking one of her rare appearances during a difficult year for her health.

Her love for the sport is well known. In a 2017 BBC documentary, she shared, “I have watched Wimbledon, that was very much part of my growing up. It’s such a quintessential part of the English summer, and I think it really inspires youngsters.”

While Kensington Palace has not confirmed whether Catherine will attend this year’s tournament, the possibility alone has given fans renewed optimism and excitement. Her presence at Wimbledon would not only uplift the crowd but also serve as a reassuring sign of her continued recovery.
