Princess of Wales earns praise for curiosity and dedication during visit to V&A East Storehouse
Catherine has won praise for her dedication to the arts and the monarchy during her latest royal engagement.
On 10 June, the Princess of Wales visited the new V&A East Storehouse in Stratford, East London, where she explored its vast art and photography collections ahead of her expected appearance at Trooping the Colour.
According to Kensington Palace, the innovative space was created to “open up access to over 600,000 objects” and to offer visitors an intimate connection with the V&A’s remarkable collections, spanning fashion, film, design, and performance.
Museum officials commended the future Queen for her genuine curiosity throughout the visit. Speaking to Hello! magazine, V&A Director Dr Tristram Hunt said, “The Princess is really passionate about the objects—whether it was the photography collection, the woven silks by William Morris, or the Pre-Raphaelite paintings.”
Dr Hunt noted that Catherine showed particular interest in the creative processes behind the pieces, demonstrating a deep desire to learn.
Known for her own love of photography, Catherine also met photographer Sarah Duncan to discuss the iconic image of ballet shoes worn by Alicia Markova. Dr Hunt shared, “It was so technical, but she asked questions about the type of camera, the processes involved, and how it was all done.”
Through her thoughtful engagement, Catherine once again affirmed her readiness to support Prince William and the monarchy as future Queen.
