Hollywood star joins efforts to preserve heritage skills and support sustainable communities
Kate Winslet has officially joined The King’s Foundation as its newest ambassador, lending her voice to a cause close to King Charles’ heart. The charity, launched in 1990, is dedicated to preserving traditional skills and fostering sustainable community development across the UK.
The Academy Award-winning actress now stands alongside fellow celebrity ambassadors such as David Beckham, Sienna Miller, Rod Stewart, and Penny Lancaster in supporting the foundation’s mission.
Sharing her excitement, Winslet said, “I am delighted to become an Ambassador for The King's Foundation in the charity's 35th anniversary year. One of my passions is exploring ways that we can protect and promote the natural world—something I have in common with His Majesty!”
She continued, “I am thrilled to put this passion into practice by working with the King's Foundation. I look forward to supporting the charity's life-changing work to build sustainable communities and transform lives into the future.”
The King’s Foundation operates a range of educational programs designed to keep traditional crafts and heritage skills alive. Its headquarters are at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland, with additional sites including Highgrove Gardens in Gloucestershire, the Castle of Mey in Caithness, and London-based facilities at Trinity Buoy Wharf and the School for Traditional Arts in Shoreditch.
