Duchess of Sussex gains renewed support as she reflects on motherhood journey
Meghan Markle is said to have rediscovered her "authentic voice" after stepping away from royal life, allowing her to speak more freely about her personal experiences.
In her new podcast series, Confessions of a Female Founder, the Duchess of Sussex reflected on the challenges she faced while pregnant with her children. “People forget that Lili is three, and Archie is five,” she said. “So you look at the past five, six years of my life – it’s been pregnancy, newborns, toddlers – back to back.”
Psychologist Stefan Walters told the Mirror that Meghan’s latest move is not just about building a brand, but also reclaiming a voice she felt unable to use while under royal protocol.
“She was ridiculed publicly and met with heavy backlash after leaving the UK,” he noted. “Now, by launching her podcast, she has not only created a platform but is also being open and honest.”
According to Walters, Meghan’s time as a working royal limited her ability to express herself, as it conflicted with the traditional image of the monarchy. Now free from such constraints, she’s sharing her experience with motherhood in a more personal way.
The expert also touched on how Meghan’s reflections may serve as a way to create new, positive memories around those early years with her children — a step towards healing and self-expression on her own terms.
