Duchess faces backlash as final episode of ‘Confessions’ set to feature Tina Knowles
Meghan Markle is preparing to release a highly anticipated bonus episode of her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, featuring Tina Knowles, the mother of global icon Beyoncé. However, the Duchess of Sussex is facing an underwhelming public response ahead of the episode’s debut.
The special episode, set to air on Tuesday, June 3, comes after the conclusion of the podcast’s eight-episode run last week. Despite the buzz surrounding the final guest, a recent Express poll revealed a stark lack of enthusiasm for more content.
Out of 2,063 respondents, a striking 2,036 said they did not want a second season of the series. Only 20 expressed interest in further episodes, while seven remained undecided.
Produced by Lemonada Media, the podcast marked Meghan’s second attempt in the audio space following Archetypes, her 2022 project with Spotify, which did not return after its first season.
Throughout the series, the Duchess, 43, engaged in conversations with women entrepreneurs, sharing stories of resilience and ambition. Teasing the upcoming finale last week, Meghan said, “Next week, we have got one more very special interview for you. A bonus episode. Because when a matriarch calls, and when this matriarch calls, oh you answer.”
Despite the prestigious guest, the podcast appears to be struggling to gain lasting traction with its audience.
