Palace Shares Video as Prince William Fulfills Royal Duty Without Catherine

Prince of Wales leads investiture ceremony ahead of family’s appearance at Trooping the Colour

Prince William stepped out solo for an important royal engagement this week, presenting honours at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.

The Prince of Wales’ appearance—shared through a video and photos on the official Instagram account he shares with Catherine—came just days before the royal family’s expected appearance at Trooping the Colour on 14 June.

In the clip, William is seen awarding honours to recipients including actress Anne-Marie Duff, Chanel CEO Leena Nair, football manager David Moyes, and Dawn Astle, founder of The Jeff Astle Foundation.

“Congratulations to all those receiving honours at Windsor today. Your hard work, dedication, and service have truly set you apart,” read the Kensington Palace caption.

Investiture ceremonies allow members of the royal family to formally bestow honours upon recipients during special events held at Windsor Castle or Buckingham Palace.

On 14 June, the royal family is expected to present a united front during Trooping the Colour in London. The military parade, which celebrates King Charles' official birthday, also serves as an annual royal gathering.

Prince William is set to ride horseback in the procession as Colonel of the Welsh Guards, alongside his aunt, Princess Anne, and uncle, Prince Edward.
