Fashion tycoon secures approval to continue weddings at £12 million estate
Princess Kate’s former boss, fashion mogul John Robinson, has won the right to continue hosting weddings at his £12 million Euridge Manor in the Cotswolds, following a lengthy legal dispute with neighbours.
Robinson, 77, founder of the Jigsaw clothing brand where Catherine worked as an accessories buyer before her marriage to Prince William, secured planning permission after a three-year battle that included a nine-day public inquiry.
Neighbours had raised concerns over noise, fireworks, and increased traffic linked to events at the estate. In 2022, Robinson was issued an enforcement notice ordering him to stop hosting events within four months.
After submitting two planning applications and lodging an appeal, Robinson has now been granted approval to continue using Euridge Manor as a wedding venue.
A spokesperson for Euridge Manor Weddings said they were "delighted at the grant of planning permission" after the long-running dispute.
Catherine worked at Jigsaw for just over two years, starting in June 2005, before joining her family’s business, Party Pieces. Opponents had argued that Robinson was operating a commercial venue without proper approval for change of use, but planning authorities ultimately ruled in his favour.
Events at the grand country manor will now proceed as planned.
