Prince Harry’s Hopes for Invictus Reunion With King Charles Face Setback

Royal expert casts doubt on Duke’s reconciliation bid ahead of 2027 Games

Prince Harry’s reported plan to extend an olive branch to King Charles by inviting him to the Invictus Games in Birmingham 2027 has hit an early roadblock, according to a former royal aide.

The Duke of Sussex, who has recently expressed a desire to reconcile with the royal family, is said to be hopeful that both his father and brother will attend the international sporting event he founded for wounded veterans. A source told the Daily Mail that Harry wants his family to support the Games, describing his hope that King Charles will “set aside their differences” to stand behind the cause.

However, former royal spokesperson Dickie Arbiter has cast doubt on the likelihood of such a reunion, cautioning that more needs to happen before any public reconciliation takes place. “You can’t just brush everything under the carpet. There’s got to be an apology,” Arbiter said in comments to The Sun.

While Arbiter acknowledged that the Games would be a “good fit” for the King given his role as commander-in-chief of the armed forces, he noted the situation remains delicate. “The King has been placed in a dilemma,” he added.

As of now, there has been no official statement from Harry’s team confirming whether invitations have been sent.
