The future king, following in the footsteps of his father King Charles, has been amplifying attention on critical environmental issues. Recently, he has placed a strong focus on the world’s oceans, which face mounting threats from rising temperatures, pollution and overfishing.

During the forum, Prince Albert II of Monaco — a long-time supporter of marine conservation — welcomed the British royal.

Royal aides described William’s upcoming remarks as “a call to action,” aimed at inspiring world leaders to accelerate progress.

“Halfway through this decisive decade, I call on all of you to think big in your actions,” William is expected to say. “Let us act together with urgency and optimism while we still have the chance.”
