Future King sent message to estranged brother despite family rift
Prince William reportedly contacted Harry to arrange a joint public appearance during the mourning period for Queen Elizabeth II, despite their ongoing estrangement.
Since stepping back from royal life in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Waleses have reunited publicly only once — at the late Queen’s funeral events.
According to reports, William reached out to Harry via text, hoping to put aside their differences temporarily in order to honour their grandmother.
As The Mirror reported, the couples — once dubbed the ‘Fab Four’ — were last seen together during a Long Walk in Windsor, where they viewed floral tributes and met members of the public.
Relations between the brothers worsened after Harry’s release of his memoir Spare.
At the time of the walkabout, Daily Mail reported: “It happened very quickly — remarkable really considering they didn’t see each other in Scotland.” The publication also claimed the invitation was William’s initiative, as King Charles was reportedly not in favour of the joint appearance.
