Royal cousin of future King highlights marine conservation on World Oceans Day
Princess Eugenie has appeared to respond to Prince William’s emotional appeal with her own powerful message on World Oceans Day.
The daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, who serves as an ambassador for the Blue Marine Foundation, posted a heartfelt statement celebrating the world’s oceans — just hours after the Prince of Wales addressed global leaders at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco.
Eugenie, 35, marked the occasion on Instagram with a photograph of herself at the beach alongside her two young sons, August and Ernest. The post highlighted her ongoing commitment to protecting marine environments.
“The ocean is the greatest wonder of the world. Celebrating @unworldoceansday today and every day,” she wrote.
In the image, Eugenie is pictured in a swimsuit with crossed back straps and linen shorts, her hair in a casual updo. She is seen holding Ernest’s hand as August plays in the surf ahead of them.
Earlier, Kensington Palace had shared a video of William’s Monaco address, stating: “Momentum is growing ahead of the UN Ocean Conference. The ocean can be healed and work is already underway.”
Eugenie’s post not only underscored her personal dedication to the cause, but also subtly echoed the Prince’s message. In May, the Princess was named a Global Ambassador for Thirty Six For Coral, an art initiative supporting coral reef conservation.
