Princess prioritises health as she eases back into royal life post-cancer treatment
Catherine is adopting a careful and considered approach to her royal duties following her cancer diagnosis and confirmation of remission earlier this year.
According to former royal spokesperson Ailsa Anderson, the Princess of Wales is “listening to her body” and gradually re-entering public life at her own pace.
This was clearly demonstrated by her unexpected absence from Royal Ascot, where she had been scheduled to join Prince William in the second carriage during the traditional procession. Although her name appeared on the official carriage list, she ultimately did not attend.
Anderson described her decision as “sensible,” praising Catherine’s efforts to prioritise her health while returning to her official role.
In recent weeks, the Princess has made notable public appearances, including at Trooping the Colour and the Garter Day Service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
Her prominent presence at Trooping the Colour, where she stood alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla, was seen by many — including royal expert Jennie Bond — as a strong signal that royal life is “pretty much back on track” after a difficult period.
