A day of diplomacy and celebration at the heart of the royal calendar
As Queen Camilla celebrated her 78th birthday on Thursday, King Charles carried out his royal duties by hosting the President of the Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu, at Windsor Castle for a private meeting.
The Royal Family's official Instagram account shared a photo of the warm handshake between the King and President Muizzu, captioned:
"This morning, The President of the Republic of Maldives visited The King at Windsor Castle."
The diplomatic engagement coincided with a personal celebration as Buckingham Palace released a brand-new portrait of Her Majesty in honor of her birthday. Taken by acclaimed royal photographer Chris Jackson, the photo captures Queen Camilla smiling warmly while leaning against a fence post in the garden of her private Wiltshire residence, Ray Mill House.
Alongside the portrait, a heartfelt message was shared on her behalf:
"Thank you for the wonderful well wishes on Her Majesty’s 78th birthday today!"
The day beautifully reflected the balance between royal responsibility and personal milestones — with King Charles fulfilling his public role, and Queen Camilla receiving warm tributes from across the country.
