Palace Breaks Silence Amid Reports of Princess Anne and Prince William Rift

Royal update reveals Anne's solo engagement as William heads to Switzerland for Euro final

Buckingham Palace has announced a new engagement for Princess Anne, just as speculation grows over an alleged rift between her and Prince William.

On Saturday, the Princess Royal will mark a key moment at the Royal Ocean Racing Club's Centenary celebrations at Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Recently named the club's patron, Anne will officially launch the 695-mile race to Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, France, as well as the Admiral's Cup class.

This update comes while William is en route to Basel, Switzerland, where he will cheer on the Lionesses in Sunday's Women's Euros final against Spain. The Palace gave the Prince of Wales a spirited send-off on Friday, with the Band of the Grenadier Guards performing the iconic “Three Lions” anthem.

Behind the scenes, however, reports suggest rising tensions between the Princess and her nephew. According to The Sunday Times, Princess Anne is said to be frustrated with the Duke of Cornwall's limited participation in routine royal engagements, often referred to as “bread-and-butter” duties.

"She's still doing most of the investitures [at Windsor] even though William lives there. It annoys her," one insider claimed.

Currently, only King Charles, Princess Anne and Prince William are authorized to carry out such ceremonies, making the balance of duties increasingly significant.
