FBI ends probe into Epstein ties as royal awaits official verdict
Prince Andrew has received a major update in the long-running investigation surrounding his alleged connection to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, marking a potential turning point in the Duke of York’s turbulent public standing.
According to The Mirror, the FBI has “formally ended its investigation” into Andrew and other high-profile individuals tied to Epstein. A memo obtained by the outlet reportedly stated that investigators “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties.”
Though an official statement from authorities is still pending, the two-page memo also dismissed persistent rumours of a so-called “Epstein client list,” declaring that “perpetuating unfounded theories about Epstein serves neither justice nor the victims.”
This development comes after years of controversy for Andrew, who was stripped of his royal patronages and military titles following sexual assault allegations brought forward by Virginia Giuffre. The Duke has since been removed from representing the royal family in any official capacity.
While the FBI’s decision may not erase the years of reputational damage, it offers some relief to the 64-year-old royal — particularly amid strained relations with King Charles.
Despite lingering public backlash, the conclusion of the investigation may embolden Andrew to quietly attempt a return to royal life. Whether the public or the monarchy is willing to accept that remains to be seen.
