Duchess shares playful exchange with host Emily Chang while promoting her Netflix series
During her appearance on The Circuit podcast, Meghan Markle’s jewellery unexpectedly became the focus of conversation when host Emily Chang admitted she had been staring at the Duchess’s necklace.
The exchange came as Meghan promoted the second season of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan. While discussing whether she goes by Sussex or Markle, she smiled and gestured towards her jewellery, asking: “Do you like this?” Chang replied: “Yeah, I do. I have been staring at your necklace, you just called me out!” Both laughed at the moment.
The piece in question was later identified as the Logan Hollowell Call On Your Angels Diamond Angel Eye Coin Necklace.
Beyond the playful moment, Meghan also reflected on aspects of royal life that had not sat comfortably with her. She told Chang she had been required to wear nude tights at public engagements as part of royal protocol.
However, royal expert Jennie Bond disagreed with Meghan’s characterisation, suggesting the rules were not as rigid as portrayed. Speaking to the Mirror, the former BBC royal correspondent said: “Would she really have got in any sort of trouble if she had worn different coloured tights or gone bare legged on a warm day? I doubt it.” She recalled her own experience at royal events, where she had not observed such strict restrictions.
