Royal family said to be upset as the Queen skips Balmoral amid King’s health struggles
Queen Camilla has allegedly stirred tension within the royal family after choosing to enjoy a luxury yacht holiday in the Mediterranean while King Charles III and other royals gathered at Balmoral Castle.
The King, 76, who is continuing to battle health problems, began his annual summer break in Scotland without his wife. Reports suggest her absence dampened the traditional family retreat, with one source describing the sight of Camilla relaxing abroad as “a knife to the heart of the dying king.”
According to Radar Online, Princess Anne and Prince William were particularly annoyed by the Queen’s decision, with William also worried about the toll it may take on his father. “Camilla’s trip has upset the whole royal family, especially the Princess Royal and the Prince of Wales,” a source claimed.
While many view Camilla as the King’s most loyal companion, her decision to take a solo trip has been criticised as poorly timed. For William and Anne, who remain united in their devotion to their father, the Queen’s absence during his health battle has been seen as especially disappointing.
