Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s contract branded a “first refusal” arrangement
Piers Morgan has taken aim at Harry and Meghan after their latest Netflix deal was revealed. The outspoken broadcaster shared a tongue-in-cheek post from Have I Got News For You on social media, just a day after the couple confirmed they had signed a new multi-year agreement with the streaming giant.
Sky News reports the Sussexes are “absolutely over the moon” about the contract, although it is believed to be worth less than their original deal. Meghan said she and Harry are “proud” and “inspired” to continue their “creative partnership” with Netflix.
The fresh “first look” arrangement gives Netflix priority access to their projects before they approach other platforms. Upcoming releases include the second season of Meghan's lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, debuting later this month, followed by a Christmas special in December.
The couple is also producing Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within — a documentary highlighting the lives of orphaned children in Uganda affected by the HIV/Aids crisis — and developing new works, including a romantic drama inspired by Meet Me At The Lake.
