King's youngest son looks to continue supporting children in southern Africa amid charity fallout
Harry is reportedly working on fresh plans to continue his philanthropic efforts after stepping away from Sentebale, the charity he co-founded nearly two decades ago.
A spokesperson confirmed the Duke is exploring “other ways” to help children in southern Africa living with HIV, AIDS, or mental health challenges. While all options are said to be under consideration, it is unclear whether this will mean creating a new charity, partnering with an existing organization, or pursuing a different approach entirely.
The move follows a dispute within Sentebale that prompted an investigation by the UK charity watchdog. The Charity Commission has urged all parties to “put their differences behind them” so the organization can focus on its work and beneficiaries.
Former trustees expressed concern for Sentebale’s future and the communities it has supported for 19 years. However, chairwoman Dr Sophie Chandauka insisted the charity has emerged “stronger, more focused, better governed, and boldly ambitious.”
Sentebale has been a significant part of Harry's public work, and he continued as his patron even after stepping back from royal duties in 2020. His latest plans suggest a renewed focus on philanthropy as he seeks to define his life beyond the royal fold.
